About Our Museum

1971: Genocide-Torture Archive & Museum preserves the memory of the 1971 Bangladesh Genocide through archives, exhibitions, and research. We document the stories of victims and survivors while promoting education, human rights, and historical awareness.

Founded in 2014, the museum houses photographs, documents, testimonies, and artifacts related to Bangladesh’s Liberation War. Through publications and educational programs, we work to preserve the history of 1971 for future generations.

What Our Visitors Saying

'This museum is not only a very important space for the people of Bangladesh to remind them of the crimes committed against them but also for the entire humankind of the lessons which are not learnt by us from these genocides. I am looking forward to the new building coming up soon, where the museum will be relocated. Through light, sound and space the new museum should make visitors experience the tragedy for it to sit in their life for many years. The young generation should be encouraged to visit and to help the world to be a better, equal and more peaceful place.'
